Double Stop
Film Restoration and Blu-Ray Authoring

DeBergerac and local producer Morgan Wesson were hired by a Cleveland businessman to restore a film he worked on in the 1960’s, an art film called Double Stop. Morgan supervised the digital transfer at Kodak, and did the digital restoration at DeBergerac. Double Stop marks the beginning of a new venture for DeBergerac: Blu-Ray encoding and publishing.

We took the finished Blu-Ray disk to Cleveland, where Double Stop was to be shown in a theatre for the first time in over 40 years. On hand were one of the two brothers who directed the film, as well as several of the actors, and an audience of over 500 people. The Blu-Ray was projected with a state-of-the-art LCD projector, courtesy of NPi in Cleveland, and the results were impressive; most of the audience thought they were watching a projected film.

Equally exciting was the drive back to Rochester that night through a blizzard, averaging only 40mph through the whiteout and ice covered roads!

Highland Hospital’s Town Meeting

Cheshire AV again called on DeBergerac for their video needs to support Highland Hospital’s recent “town meeting.” Highland’s senior staff announced their new initiative, “I Care.”  Highland needed to communicate this “master guide” for the hospital to their entire staff.

We produced an hour-long program that was both streamed on their intranet, as well as presented in HD on Highland’s internal video system. Capturing the event on video freed the senior staff from having to recreate the “I Care” presentation throughout their extensive system.

Same Address, New Space
We are settling quickly into our new, expanded office space. The walls are freshly painted, our boxes are put away, and we’re collaborating with our friends in the art and design world to make this office a creative space.

We are also moving forward with designs for our edit suite, with special thanks to Eric at CAV for creating 3D computer models of our plans to show to our contractor and his woodworking staff. More on that as it develops!
